The hectic Black Friday sales weekend has begun. So if you need a break from hunting down all those bargains, there are several new movies debuting this weekend on the top streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video.
The new movies coming this Friday (November 27) to Sunday (November 29) include Bombshell, (pictured above), the 2019 film about the sexual harassment scandal at Fox News. The movie, which is on Hulu and Amazon, stars Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly and Nicole Kidman as Gretchen Carlson. Margot Robbie is also featured.
Also notable this weekend: Black Beauty, a new Disney original film starring MacKenzie Foy as a troubled teen who befriends a wild horse (voiced by Kate Winslet); Dance Dreams: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, a Netflix original documentary film on actor/dancer Debbie Allen and her students at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy; and The Call of the Wild, the 2020 film starring Harrison Ford as a cranky old outdoorsman who befriends a dog named Buck (befriending animals is a theme this weekend?) who was kidnapped and sent to the Yukon. (The film will debut on HBO Max on Saturday).
There’s also The Big Ugly, the 2020 action film starring Malcolm McDowell as a London crime boss who forces a underling (Vinnie Jones) to set up a money laundering operation in West Virginia. (The film will debut on Hulu; here’s a review from the Chicago Sun-Times.); and Life In a Year, a 2020 romantic dramatic film starring Jaden Smith as a teen who discovers his girlfriend (Cara Delevingne) is dying. (The film will debut on Amazon Prime.).
