For many Americans (those with extra vacation time), the Thanksgiving holiday will begin this weekend. So what’s a better time to check out the newest movies coming to the top streaming services such as Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ and Amazon Prime.
The list of new movies coming from this Friday (November 20) to Sunday (November 22) include Underwater, a 2020 sci-fi horror film (HBO Max) starring Kristen Stewart as a mechanical engineer whose team is stuck six miles below the ocean’s surface after an earthquake; Run, a Hulu original film starring Sarah Paulson as a psychologically impaired mother who covertly shelters her 17-year-old disabled daughter; Tesla, a 2020 biofilm (Hulu) starring Ethan Hawke as the eccentric but brilliant inventor; and Most Wanted, a 2020 drama (Amazon Prime) starring Josh Harnett as an investigative reporter who seeks the truth behind a heroin bust.
Run seems to be the most intriguing new addition of the weekend with critic’s darling Paulson in the lead. Entertainment Weekly gives the movie a B- score, writing that it’s “hardly a home run, but still a brittle, nasty bit of fun.” The New York Times writes that Run is “a nifty little thriller whose title pleads for an exclamation point.”
