Amazon is now selling a Sony 65-inch 4K TV, model XBR65X900F, for $899, which is $600 less than Sony’s suggested retail price.  BestBuy.com is now selling the TV for $1,199, which is more evidence that this is a real deal.

Updated: The price was raised to $1,179 on November 17.

The TV includes 4 HDMI inputs, 2 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 and1 Composite Port. The set also has the Alexa digital assistant so you can use your voice remote to play music, launch video apps and more.

When it was first introduced two years ago, CNET.com praised the TV’s picture and added that its only major complaint was the price. The 65-inch TV then cost more than twice as much.

“The Sony XBR-X900F evinces excellent image quality, with deep black levels, accurate color, solid video processing and very good high dynamic range performance. Its modern, minimalist styling is a cut above budget models. The Android TV operating system beats many competitors with more apps and integrated Google Assistant,” wrote CNET’s David Katzmaier.

The reviewer, who gave the TV four stars out of a possible five, added:

“It might not be the best value, but the Sony X900F offers an excellent picture, superb style and enough extras to tempt buyers who don’t want a bargain brand.”

Well, it’s a bargain brand now.
