On October 1,2020, Hulu is adding 51 new movies, including some classics that are definitely worth your time and subscription fee.

The new list of flicks includes Raging Bull, the 1980 Martin Scorsese drama starring Robert De Niro as middleweight boxer Jake LaMotta. The film, which was named by some critics as the best of the decade, is dominated by De Niro’s most raw and powerful performance ever as a fighter who never really leaves the ring. But don’t forget Joe Pesci’s turn as Jake’s sad sack brother as well as Cathy Moriarty as LaMotta’s long suffering wife. And don’t get me started on Scorsese’s dazzling direction which puts you in the ring in a way no boxing film did before, or has done since. Great movie!

Also debuting on Hulu on October 1: A Beautiful Mind, the 2001 biofilm on real-life schizophrenic mathematician John Nash, played by Russell Crowe; Drugstore Cowboy, Gus Van Sant’s under-appreciated 1989 drug drama starring Matt Dillon, Heather Graham and the unfortunately forgotten Kelly Lynch; The Hurt Locker, the searing 2009 drama starring Jeremy Renner as an emotionally-numb bomb disposal technician in war-torn Iraq; Superbad, the goofball 2007 comedy starring Jonah Hill and Michael Cera as high school seniors; and 1994’s Interview With a Vampire, which stars Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt as campy vampires.
